LIC Maturity Calculator: Estimate Your Final Payout

Curious about how much your LIC policy will pay out when it completes its term? Our universal LIC Maturity Calculator helps you estimate the final corpus of any participating or non-participating endowment, money-back, or whole-life policy by accurately compounding bonuses.

How is LIC Maturity Calculated?

The maturity amount of a standard LIC policy isn't just the return of your premiums. It is a carefully calculated sum consisting of three main components:

  • Basic Sum Assured: The guaranteed amount promised to you at the beginning of the policy.
  • Vested Simple Reversionary Bonuses (SRB): Every year, LIC declares a bonus per ₹1,000 of the Sum Assured. This gets added (vested) to your policy account annually.
  • Final Additional Bonus (FAB): A one-time reward paid to policyholders who stay invested for more than 15 years, significantly boosting the final payout.

Tax Implications on Maturity

One of the biggest advantages of investing in life insurance in India is the tax-free maturity. Under Section 10(10D) of the Income Tax Act, the entire maturity amount—including all bonuses—is 100% tax-exempt, provided your annual premium did not exceed 10% of the Basic Sum Assured. This makes LIC policies far superior to taxable fixed deposits for long-term wealth creation.
